Privacy and Disclosure

The Responsible Entity of IRIS (RSE R1004359) is Super Members Investments Limited (SMI - ABN 61 095 974 100, AFSL 231230, RSE L0001151).

SMI is a division of Industry Fund Services (IFS - ABN 54 007 016 195, AFSL 232 514) IFS is part of the Members Equity Group of Companies (one of which is Members Equity Bank*). Both Members Equity Bank and IFS are owned by Industry Super Holdings Pty Ltd (ABN 71 119 748 060), which is owned by a number of leading industry superannuation funds.

The information provided on this website is of a general nature only. It has been prepared by SMI without taking into account your personal objectives, financial situation or needs. Privacy

SMI respects your privacy and protecting your personal information is important to us. Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth) (the Privacy Act) we must handle your personal information in accordance with a set of National Privacy Principles, any applicable privacy codes defined in, and approved under, the Privacy Act, and any reasonable directions relating to privacy which are given by the Privacy Commissioner.

At SMI, we only collect information that is necessary to administer your investment in the IRIS Superannuation Fund. By this we mean managing your account and providing you with information in relation to your investment as required by law. We may also collect, use and disclose information about you in order to notify you about other financial services and products that either SMI, IRIS or our associates may offer, or to provide information about the status of your investment to your financial planner.

SMI has appointed specialists in the fields of administration, investment management, custody and audit, to provide services to you on our behalf. They are authorised to use your personal information under the strictest confidence for the purposes of administering your investment in the IRIS Superannuation Fund.

SMI will not use or disclose your personal information for any other purpose without your consent, except where required by law. For example, SMI’s Administrator is required to report certain information to the ATO for tax-related purposes.

The personal information collected by SMI from you includes your contact details, date of birth and TFN (if you have chosen to quote it). Over time, this will be supplemented with financial and other information necessary to administer your investment in the IRIS Superannuation Fund. We have stringent security measures in place and the staff who handle your personal information have the knowledge, skills and commitment to protect it from unauthorised access or misuse. As an investor, you may ask to see the information we hold about you and to have it corrected if required or if appropriate.

Complaints

We take complaints seriously and have a set of procedures in place for handling them. A complaint about your IRIS Super Income Stream or IRIS Term Allocated Pension will be dealt with in the first instance by the IRIS administrator. To inform the administrator of your complaint please call us on 1300 367 485 or write to:

Upon receipt of your complaint, we will:
  • Acknowledge the complaint promptly and inform you when you should expect to receive a response.
  • Investigate the complaint in a timely manner.
  • Respond to you in writing within 90 days of the date of the receipt of your complaint.

If your complaint cannot be resolved at this level, the matter may be referred to the Licensee directly. If after completing the IRIS internal complaints process you are not satisfied with the outcome of a complaint, you may call the Superannuation Complaints Tribunal (SCT) on 1300 780 808 or write to:

The SCT is an independent body, established by the Federal Government to help members of superannuation funds and their dependants to resolve certain types of complaints about decisions made by fund trustees where the complaint is not resolved by the fund's complaint handling process.
